Remote Education Guidance
Change to 2021-22 term dates – Friday 22nd October 2021 additional holiday – We have been notified by the Department for Education that the school year for 2021/22 will be reduced from 190 days to 189 teaching days.  This is to reflect the additional bank holiday in June 2022 for the Queens’s Platinum Jubilee. As the bank holiday falls during the May half term and schools have already booked in their inset days it is down to individual schools when they take the additional day within the school year. The Rydal Academy Local Governing Body has agreed that Friday 22nd October 2021 will now be a school holiday. Please see the Term dates tab in the Parent/Carers section for full dates.

We believe in the widest possible horizons for learning and aim to achieve the finest Primary education to be found anywhere.

Extra-Curricular Activities

We believe that it is important to extend children’s experiences of the curriculum beyond the school day. The Rydal Academy provides a wide range of activities, which take place at the end of the school day.  Extra-curricular timetables are published annually. All activities are free and are run by school staff. Clubs are accessible to pupils from Reception to Year 6 depending on the activity.
